The four star Vale Hotel Golf and Spa Resort was once part of the estate of Hensol Castle, which dates back to the mid 17th Century.

Set in some of South Wales' most spectacular countryside, the hotel boasts extensive parkland, as well as its very own 18-hole PGA golf course and a lake. Cardiff International Airport is 12 miles away from the hotel.

The 143 guest rooms are all decorated with pale cream walls, patterned fabrics and dark wood furniture. All have tea and coffee making facilities, dial-up Internet access and pay movies. Some have balconies or terraces overlooking the 18th hole of the golf course.

As well as the golf course, the hotel has an on-site spa center and sports center. The vale Spa is the largest in Wales and offers treatments from Clarins and Elemis. The Health and Racquets Center has a 20 meter indoor pool, squash and tennis courts and a dance studio.

Theupmarket Lakes Restaurant serves international dishes and fresh Welsh ingredients in a formal dining room. Hogan's Bar and the Health and Racquets Club Bar provide hearty British dishes and snacks.
