Located southeast of Kensington Gardens, north of Earls Court and west of Chelsea, Kensington and Knightsbridge are upscale residential areas that are centrally located to some of London's most prominent attractions.
Kensington is best known for its palace and gardens, which used to be the home of the late Princess Diana. Other notable attractions include the Victoria and Albert, Science and Natural museums.
Shoppers will find the area to be a desirable destination with Harrods as the focal point. Restaurants can be found mainly along Kensington High Street and the theaters of the West End are just a short ride away using the underground.
There are numerous hotels in Kensington and Knightsbridge, some housed in converted Victorian town homes and some in modern buildings. Underground stations in the area include South Kensington, Gloucester Road, High Street Kingston and Knightsbridge.
