Opened in 1982, the Britannia Hotel is housed in an English Heritage Grade II-listed building, a 10-minute walk from the city's financial district, shopping and the G-Mex Exhibition Center. The Old Trafford stadium is 1.5 miles from the hotel.
The converted 19th-century cotton mill was one of the Lancashire cotton industry's most famous warehouses. Today, each of the 363 guest rooms at the Britannia Hotel Manchester is individually decorated with dark wood furnishings and patterned fabrics.
The hotel has many eating and drinking venues. Thr Wave Bar has a contemporary decor and scroll-down TV screen and it offers all day-long snacks. Bar Rogue, next door, is a buzzing night-time venue at weekends. Cromptons Restaurant serves French cuisine for dinner in a smart ambience of dark wooden shelving and paneling, salvaged from a Victorian tobacconist's shop.
