Swansea, on the shores of the crescent shaped Swansea Bay, 180 miles west of London and 40 miles west of Cardiff is an attractive seaside community and the second largest city in Wales.
The focal point of activity in Swansea is the long sandy beach, which, uncommonly to the British Isle is suitable for surfing. Also notable are the Swansea Museum and the Dylan Thomas Centre dedicated to one of Swansea's most famous natives (Catherine Zeta Jones is the second…).
Notable points of interest around Swansea include Brecon Beacons National Park and the Dan-yr-Ogof Caves as well as Oakwood Theme Park, the largest theme park in Wales.
Most hotels in Swansea are located in the town centre near the port. Additional accommodation options can be found along the M4 Motorway that runs north of town and at The Mumbles located at the southern edge of Swansea Bay.
